Norwegian mobile broadband — tenth annual report
Simula Metropolitan’s Center for Resilient Networks and Applications (CRNA) performs long-term measurements of Norwegian mobile broadband networks. The measurements form the basis for an annual report on the stability and performance of these networks. The tenth report (in Norwegian) has now been released.

On December 6th, OsloMet and SimulaMet welcome you to the conference where three world-leading psychology professors talk about opportunities and challenges in the use of artificial intelligence and virtual avatars in revealing interviews with children. In addition, we will present the Avatar project, with a demonstration of the avatar.
Rising interest in datasets and machine learning models for colonoscopy images
For many years researchers at SimulaMet have worked on datasets consisting of colonoscopy images and videos, and developed machine learning models trained on this data. There is a rising interest in these developments, and they are for example used in the Nvidia Clara Holoscan, and mentioned in the 2022 AI Index from Stanford University.
The final LUCS-PACE Summer School
In the end of August, PhD students and MSc students attended the last LUCS and PACE summer school in Sundvolden, Norway. This year's summer school was titled "From Energy Systems to Energy Justice".
Surveillance in Norway in light of the war in Ukraine
Arendalsuka 2022 was last week, and Simula organised two events this year. The first event was a panel discussion on how the war in Ukraine affects our willingness to provide the security authorities with interventional measures. Olav Lysne awarded Researcher of the Decade
Director of SimulaMet, Prof. Olav Lysne, was named Simula Researcher of the Decade at Simula’s 20th-anniversary celebration. The award was given in recognition of his fundamental contributions to the development of Simula.
