Riegler is one of twelve new members appointed in 2019.
Akademiet for Yngre Forskere consists of talented, junior researchers from all disciplines with a demonstrated commitment to science policy and innovative research dissemination. Members have been selected through an application process involving a scientific review process followed by interviews, and have a membership for four years.
- I am delighted to be accepted to Akademiet for Yngre Forskere (AYF). I see this as a great opportunity to, together with other young and motivated researchers, improve the communication of science to the public - especially in the field of artificial intelligence. Further, I am looking forward to work on communicating science to children, which I think is very important.
Michael is a senior research scientist in the department of holistic systems at SimulaMet.
- It is a great honor to be admitted and a great arena where Michael can be an ambassador for the research. We are proud to have such a forward-thinking research colleague. As one of the few exclusive members, Michael will be part of an interdisciplinary and research policy platform for younger researchers, an advocate for innovative research dissemination and an attractive scientific debate arena, says Professor and Chief Research Scientist at SimulaMet Pål Halvorsen.
Michael is the second Simula researcher receiving this honor. Chief Research Scientist Marie Rognes was one of the founding members of the Young Academy of Norway back in 2015.
