TransPacket has developed the FUSION networking technology for Ethernet enabling Time Sensitive Networking for 5G, preserving synchronization, guaranteed network service in combination with best effort packet transport for access networks.
Through this cooperation, SimulaMet will get access to 100 Gbit/s and 10Gbit versions of FUSION networking IP implemented using state of the art Xilinx Zynq FPGAs for use in the fronthaul network in the 5G lab.

SMIL will provide an experimental environment for our researchers and collaborators to explore new innovations and perform high-impact research for industry, mobile operators and service providers. SimulaMet is also contributing to the OsloMet curriculum in advanced communication topics and plans to engage OsloMet student resources in experimental work related to emerging 5G services.
